Revive: Photo to Video AI · by Be Shift · Last updated October 24, 2026
This policy explains what information the Revive app (“Revive”, “the app”) uses, including photos and face data, why it is used, who processes it, how long it is kept, and how you can withdraw your consent or delete it. Revive is published by Be Shift (“we”, “us”). Questions: contact@finradar.space.
- You decide which photo to use. When you ask Revive to create a video or edit a photo, that photo and a short text instruction are sent to the AI provider named in section 4, and only after you agree to this in the app.
- Faces in photos are analysed only on your device. This face data is never uploaded, never stored and never shared (section 3).
- We do not keep your photos or videos on our servers, we do not sell personal data, and we never use your photos for advertising or to train AI models.
- You can withdraw your consent at any time in the app under Settings › AI photo processing, and delete your videos in My Creations.
1. Photos you choose
What: the photo you select (for some styles, a second photo you select), and the text instruction (“prompt”) of the style you picked.
When: only when you tap to create a video or apply a photo tool (Restore, Colorize, Enhance, Recreate), and only after you have agreed to AI photo processing in the app.
Why: solely to produce the video or edited photo you asked for. The result is returned to the app and saved on your device.
Picking a photo uses Apple’s system photo picker, which gives the app only the photo you choose. Full access to your photo library is optional (see section 3.2).
2. Photo library access (optional)
If you allow it, Revive looks through your photo library on your device to suggest photos of people that would animate well, and to remind you of photos taken on this day in past years. Photos found this way are never uploaded unless you choose one and ask Revive to create something with it.
3. Face data
3.1 What face data the app uses
Revive uses on-device face detection (Google ML Kit, running entirely on your iPhone or iPad, without sending anything to Google) to read the following from a photo:
- whether the photo contains a face, and the face’s position and size in the picture;
- the approximate position of the eyes and nose (to tell whether the face is clear and turned towards the camera);
- the angle of the head; and
- an estimate of whether the person is smiling.
Revive does not create face templates, faceprints or any biometric identifier, and does not recognise, identify or match people across photos.
3.2 How face data is used
- to tell you whether the photo you picked is likely to animate well;
- if you allowed photo library access: to choose which of your photos to suggest on the Home screen and in “on this day” reminders.
Face data is not used for advertising, marketing, profiling, tracking, identification or any other purpose.
3.3 Storage, retention and sharing of face data
Face data is computed in your device’s memory and discarded as soon as the check is done. It is never written to storage, never uploaded to us, and never shared with any third party, including our AI providers. To avoid scanning your library again, the app keeps on your device only the identifiers of the photos it suggested (not any face data); this list is refreshed every 24 hours and is removed when you delete the app.
3.4 Deleting face data and revoking consent
Because face data is never stored, there is nothing to delete beyond the on-device list of suggested photo identifiers. You can stop all face analysis of your library at any time by turning off photo access in iOS Settings › Revive › Photos; deleting the app removes the list of suggestions. Face checks on a photo you pick yourself happen only while you use that photo.
Note that the photo you choose to animate naturally shows a face. That photo is shared with an AI provider only as described in section 4, when you ask for a video or edit.
4. AI service providers
To create your video or edited photo, the app sends the photo you chose and the style’s text instruction directly to one of these providers. No name, email address, account or contact details are sent with it.
| Provider | Used for | What it receives | How it handles it (per its own terms) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Alibaba Cloud Model Studio (DashScope), Singapore region | Premium videos | your photo and the style prompt | Does not use customer inputs or outputs to train models; inference data is kept for no more than 30 days, uploaded files are deleted within 48 hours, generated video links expire after 24 hours. |
| deAPI | Standard videos and the first video after subscribing | your photo and the style prompt | Does not retain submitted content beyond the request; generated files are deleted within 24 hours; does not use content to train, fine-tune or evaluate models. |
| OpenRouter, which routes the request to Google’s Gemini image models | Photo tools: Restore, Colorize, Enhance, Recreate | your photo and the edit instruction | OpenRouter does not store request content; Google processes the request to produce the image under its API terms for paid services. |
Separately, a style’s text prompt (never your photo) may be sent to OpenRouter to adapt the prompt to your photo.
Equal protection. We share your photo only with providers that are bound by their terms to use it solely to provide the service to us, to keep it secure, not to use it to train AI models, and to delete it within the periods above. We require that any provider receiving your photo protects it with the same or equal protection as described in this policy. If a provider’s terms change so that this is no longer true, we will stop sending photos to it.
Processing may take place outside your country of residence (for example in Singapore). Transfers are protected by encryption in transit (HTTPS).
5. Retention and deletion
- Your photos: not stored by us. Providers keep them only as stated in section 4.
- Your videos and edited photos: saved only on your device. Delete them at any time in My Creations, or delete the app to remove them all (unless you saved them to your photo library).
- Face data: never stored (section 3.3).
- Coins and purchases: your coin balance is kept in your device’s secure keychain (synchronised through your iCloud Keychain if enabled) so it survives reinstalling.
6. Your consent and how to withdraw it
Before the first photo is sent to an AI provider, the app explains what will be sent and to whom, and asks for your permission. Nothing is sent if you decline. You can withdraw your consent at any time in the app under Settings › AI photo processing; after that, no photo is sent until you agree again. Withdrawing consent does not affect videos already created, which stay on your device until you delete them.
7. Other information we process
- Purchases are processed by Apple. We receive the status of your purchases and subscriptions (from Apple and through our subscription service provider, Superwall), never your payment details.
- App analytics: we use Firebase Analytics (Google) to understand how the app is used — for example which screens are opened, which buttons are tapped and errors — with an anonymous app-instance identifier. No photos, videos or face data are included.
- Subscription service: Superwall receives an anonymous user identifier, subscription status and your answers to the onboarding question (for example who you would like to bring back), to show the right plans.
- Tracking: the advertising identifier is used only if you allow tracking when iOS asks you, to measure our marketing. You can change this in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- Notifications (reminders, including one the day before a free trial ends) are scheduled locally on your device.
We do not sell personal data and do not share it for third-party advertising.
8. Your choices and rights
You can withdraw consent for AI photo processing (section 6), turn off photo access, notifications or tracking in iOS Settings, and delete your creations at any time. You may also contact us to ask what data we hold about you or to request its deletion; we do not hold your photos, videos or face data.
9. Children
Revive is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version; important changes will also be shown in the app.
